Job summary

The post holder will be responsible for the administrative processes supporting allHewitt Centre Knutsfordclinics for both Private and NHS patients and for the registration of Transport and Satellite patients attending the Unit. The post holder will be required to become proficient in the use of Information Technology and supporting technologies to enable the discharge of duties in an efficient and effective manner.

The post holder will provide typing and administrative support to consultants and other staff within the Hewitt Centre, dealing with clinic correspondence, letters and reports as required.

The post holder will also assist with telephone enquiries, filing and other associated administrative tasks.

Main duties of the job

Provide a professional clinical typing service to consultants, clinicians and other Unit staff as required, using DICT8 or copy typing. Ensure all typing is accurate, GP details are checked against patient notes and Digicare/Summary Care Record where necessary.

Arrange all communication to new patients.

Assist with the provision of a telephone answering service (high call volume) for patients who contact the clinical team.

Assist with the maintenance of an up to date electronic and paper office filing system appropriate to the relevant department and undertake filing in Patient Records and the Hewitt Centre in accordance with the Trust Records Management Policy.

Help maintain the Hewitt Centre's case note filing system. (currently in process of going paper light).Support Trust and Departmental processes for the review and management of data quality issues related to booking and scheduling activity.

Work flexibly to cover the hours of operation including weekends and Bank holidays if required.

Undertake other duties as required from time to time providing cover for other members of the booking and scheduling team.

Enter orders onto percurrent system NEP.
