Starting on 8th June 2026, our Actuarial Pricing Industrial Placement Program will give you the opportunity to develop a range of skills while working within our Global Pricing team. During your year with us, you can expect extensive training alongside meaningful on-the-job learning opportunities.

This is an ideal opportunity for anyone looking to embark on a career as an Actuary and will provide you with the knowledge, skills and behaviors for future success.

We are looking for an undergraduate university student to join our London-based Actuarial Pricing team for a 1-year Industrial Placement Program.

Your Team

Our Global Pricing Team is a dynamic group of insurance experts dedicated to navigating through the complex landscape of pricing strategies worldwide. With a deep understanding of the insurance industry's nuances, we craft innovative pricing models that ensure our clients remain competitive in a rapidly evolving commercial market.

The Impact You Will Have

Reporting to the Head of Global Pricing Enablement, you will assist team members in supporting actuarial methodology and pricing across all lines of business. Based on your interests and abilities, you will get involved in a variety of pricing topics across some of the different lines of business (Liability, Financial Lines, Short Tail Lines, Specialty Lines) as well as other functions (Enablement projects, Predictive Modelling).

Some of your specific responsibilities during your Apprenticeship could include:

  • Preparation and communication of pricing data (we will support you in developing the skills necessary to undertake this activity)

  • Support the maintenance of pricing capability through the development of appropriate statistical pricing methodologies

  • Understand market developments globally and ensure that loss trends are understood and reflected in our pricing activities

  • Research topics relating to Global Pricing and undertake additional ad hoc tasks to contribute to the ongoing activity of the actuarial function.

  • Interest in an Actuarial career

  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills with great attention to detail.

  • Able to adapt and work effectively in different situations and remain calm under pressure

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Have a pro-active and positive attitude to team work, able to assist others and also take on your own responsibilities

  • A curious and creative mindset, willingness to learn and enthusiasm to own and drive your personal development

  • Ability to effectively absorb information from various sources, then analyse, study or examine data in detail, draw appropriate conclusions and present solutions to others

  • Strong computer fundamentals such as Excel, VBA and SQL or Python experience preferred

  • A basic understanding of artificial intelligence (AI) and its potential applications in business is essential.

  • Fluent English language skills

Eligibility

  1. Currently enrolled on a bachelor's university degree course that includes a year in industry for the 2026/27 academic year.

  1. Studying a degree in a numerate subject such as Mathematics, Statistics or Economics

  1. Minimum Grade B in A-level Mathematics

  1. This industrial placement will commence on 8th June 2026. You must be available to start work on this date.

Further Information:

  • This is a fixed-term opportunity for 12 months

  • Working Hours: full-time (35h/week)

  • Successful candidates will receive the London Living wage which is currently £13.85 per hour (£25,207 /year)
