Develop a Python signal-processing pipeline to validate the optical performance of a space instrument, from raw data to delivered performance including measurement uncertainty, with Git version control and regression tests. In parallel, assess whether a machine-learning approach (scikit-learn, PyTorch or JAX) can match the reference physical method in precision, noise robustness, computation time and explainability, and document the tool for the team.

Six-month internship within the multi-physics system analysis and modelling team, working on satellite system analyses for telecom, observation, exploration and navigation programmes. You will integrate and validate contamination modelling from material erosion by ions into the in-house EPISS tool, and improve the MAGNUM tool for predicting satellite visual magnitude, comparing predictions against telescope observations. Work is Matlab-based and draws on literature, thruster performance and ONERA measurement campaigns.
