Owns the full lifecycle of spacecraft GNC hardware, from selecting and qualifying flight sensors and actuators to maintaining 6-DOF simulation models and avionics peripherals. Works hands-on in lab and manufacturing settings with cross-functional hardware, software and systems teams, in a design-to-launch cycle measured in weeks rather than years.

Design, implement, test and maintain embedded firmware for satellite systems, working within a Platform team that interfaces with R&D, manufacturing and operations. Involves optimising serial protocols, debugging on-orbit and on-ground issues, and building interface tools, with FreeRTOS, Embedded C, Python/Bash and Arm Cortex microcontrollers in a fast design-to-launch cycle.

NewOrbit Space · Reading

Owns the design, build and test of an RF gridded ion thruster, from performance calculations and ion optics through to vacuum-chamber testing and design iteration. Works alongside mechanical, electrical and control engineers to support the NEO-1 satellite and customer thruster deliveries, with test results feeding directly into flight configurations.

NewOrbit Space · Reading

Structural analysis of flight hardware for VLEO satellites, covering static, modal, vibration, shock and quasi-static load cases. Builds and validates finite element models, performs hand calculations, and runs vibration and shock qualification test campaigns end-to-end, including instrumentation and model correlation. Works closely with mechanical, thermal, propulsion, systems and AIT teams across the full development lifecycle.

Astroscale · Didcot

Develops and maintains flight dynamics software for defence-focused space control missions, specifying algorithms and integrating with an in-house flight dynamics suite. Works in an Agile team with the commercial defence team and Chief Engineer, also supporting bids, customer training and ground segment verification and validation.
