We are looking for a Global Resilience & Protection Solutions Expert, based in London or Munich.

Your Team

You’ll join at an exciting time as we continue to develop products and solutions that support our customers efforts to shift to a low carbon economy and more broadly achieve their sustainability goals whether focused on climate, environment or beyond to deep societal impacts.

As part of a global team, you will provide support across the newly forming Allianz Commercial business as a subject matter expert in sustainability focused innovation, acting as a business partner to line of business areas as well as local and regional teams to help shape the area of the global underwriting business of Allianz.

The Impact You Will Have

As a Global Resilience & Protection Solutions Expert, you will significantly impact Allianz Commercial's approach to adaptation and resilience solutions. Your role involves expanding and monitoring the solutions portfolio, using market intelligence to innovate and identify opportunities to meet client protection gaps. You will identify profitable business opportunities and roll out new cross-LOB products/solutions.

Additionally, you will position Allianz Commercial as a thought leader in protection, resilience, and adaptation, leveraging your background in climate risk and sustainable development. Your expertise will support Allianz in understanding customer needs and developing solutions based on market demand, contributing to growth and establishing Allianz as a leader in climate mitigation and risk transfer.

Some of your specific responsibilities could include:

  • Shape Allianz's commercial ESG & Sustainability strategy by providing a deep understanding of resilience, adaptation, and protection topics, including extreme weather events & disasters, biodiversity and natural resource scarcity/loss and environmental liability.

  • Conduct market and competitor research to identify trends, market development, and client needs, informing strategic decision-making.

  • Analyze the existing Allianz client base to identify opportunities based on industries represented and coverage, driving business growth.

  • Propose data-driven investments into innovative solutions and products, leveraging insights to drive innovation and meet market demands.

  • Collaborate with other ESG and Sustainability Solutions stakeholders in Allianz such as OE and LoB business partners, to develop approved new solutions and products using a quick test-and-learn approach.

  • Act as a sustainability business partner, supporting the roll-out and capability-building of resilience, adaptation, and protection related solutions across the entire Allianz Commercial organization.

What You’ll Bring to the Role

  • Master’s degree or equivalent in a related field (e.g., engineering, environmental management, climate risk & resilience sciences).

  • Technical and practical expertise in developing climate and sustainability solutions at a Consultant, Broker, or Insurer, demonstrating a strong understanding of climate-related challenges and the creation of solutions.

  • In-depth knowledge and experience in sustainable finance and insurance (CertCII or higher), ideally within a corporate insurance or consulting company.

  • Proficiency in ESG & Sustainability data and market research for the commercial and finance sectors.

  • Experience in applying artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) to improve business processes and decision-making is highly beneficial.

  • Experience in product development and business sectors related to sustainable consulting, finance, and insurance.

  • Familiarity with the broader societal sustainability discourse and context.

  • Ability to drive organizational change and demonstrate a strategic orientation, particularly in the realm of corporate governance.

  • Experience in translating complex sustainability concepts into monetary or value impacts and assessing bottom-line results from adaptation and mitigation actions.

  • Excellent spoken and written English and German skills, and fluency in another European language is a plus.
